Happy Monday, and welcome to Day 19 of 31 Days of Meditation & Mindfulness.
Find time today to reflect on this Ann Landers quote.
Sit quietly, and breathe calmly until you feel centered. Recall a time when you “hung in there.” Try to simply observe and not become emotionally involved. The goal isn’t to dredge up the past, but rather reflect on various approaches you’ve taken in life.
Then move on to recall a time when you “let go and did it.” Again, simply observe who you were and what you did in that time.
Which worked out better for you in the short run? Long run? Why?
Can you “rerun” both events and change them to be positive outcomes for all involved?
This consciously reviewing decisions, interactions, and events is invaluable. Especially when combined with careful monitoring of breathing, reviewing can help you become more aware of what image you project to the world. And if you don’t particularly like what you see, maybe it’s time to let it go – whatever “it” is.
