Although I’m a decent cook, it’s not always possible to prepare everything for every day. And that’s especially true if you want nutritionally “good for you” snacks. How challenging is it to find something different that does not have GMOs, artifical flavors, artificial colors, high fructose corn syrup, or trans fats? Yeah – it’s a challenge, though there’s always fruit (and I love what I find at my local co-op.)
Still, there are times when a quick fix is what you’re looking for, and I don’t want to turn to chips or candy. Though I do like potato chips. And candy.
With a love for
cookies and candy junk food, and a desire to eat healthy, you can see why Graze makes sense in my life. I like to eat healthy, and don’t always have (or make) the time for good-for-me snacks. And these are perfect for a quick pick-me-up in the afternoon at work.
After signing up, you simply tell Graze what type of snacks you enjoy and they hand pick a box for you. Let’s look at these step-by-step:
STEP ONE: SIGN UP
For $6.99 every four weeks, I receive the 4 snack variety box; it’s the perfect amount and frequency for me. This is the lowest price point; it’s really easy to change to a different box – or to try a different box one time. Other boxes:
- 8 snacks per box for $11.99 per box
- Specialty Boxes (8 snacks per box) for $11.99 per box: Sweet Treat, Savory, Calorie Count, Protein, and Sugar County
- $25 per box: The “Sharing” box – 5 bags of your choice – about 20 servings.
STEP TWO: PICK SNACKS YOU LIKE
Sign up is super easy and fast; I think the hardest part is deciding which snacks to get! With more than 100 types of snacks to choose from, you’re sure to find something that will tickle your taste buds. And YOU tell Graze what you like and what you refuse to eat; for example, I absolutely do not eat hot and spicy foods. They haven’t sent me one. For example, this month’s box contains:
And nope, I’m not worried about the barbecue flavors. I had a similar snack a couple of months ago that was more on the sweet and smoky side of barbeque than hot and spicy. I can say it’s unusual to have two similar flavors in one package. Here was my very first four pack of snacks:
I would like those Wholegrain Banana Caramel dippers about right now, wouldn’t you?
STEP THREE: SNACKS ARRIVE
About ten days after you sign up, your first Graze snack pack arrives at your door. Or you could have it sent to your office; but beware – your co-workers may be jealous! The snacks come in a box that easily fits in most mailboxes.
As you saw above, your snacks are packed neatly inside. Each box also includes a complete list of ingredients. My June 2015 box included Hickory Smoked BBQ Peas, Vanilla Walnut Fudge, Cherries & Berries and Barbecue Sub; here are the ingredients and nutrition facts (my apologies for the blurriness.)
Sure, I love getting clothes in the mail but – seriously – the Graze subscription box is the one I’m most pleased with every month.
- I love that most of the packaging is 100% recyclable.
- I love that it’s healthy – or healthy-ish – and nutritionist approved.
- I love that I can read (and understand) the ingredients for each snack both on the website AND in each shipment.
- I love that it’s the perfect size for a quick snack at work.
- I love that each month is a little bit different.
If you’re concerned about ingredients, have allergies, or are on a special diet, take a look at the Graze FAQ – they answer most any question you might have.
